One minute your little girls are playing in their bananna box fort at home, as you pack for the move...

the next you are at confession, and your Una tries to dip her fingers in the marble holy water font....

and it crushes her skull.

2 fractures and a hematoma on the membranes above the brain later you realize you've learned one very expensive lesson:

Savor those little minutes. Each and every one. Live in them, and don't rush them by trying to bring on the next better thing. Each moment IS the better thing.

Farm Girls at Work!

My favorite moments on the farm have lately been the wordless ones...the evening chores and finishing ups in around the home acres...the girls are usually arrayed in some imaginative and curious combination of their own making...whispering pretendings to themself as they wield sticks, sit in dirt, poke at things, collect eggs, and baby poor unsuspecting kittens...

Rotating the Sheep in Ireland

I never see Shane happier than when he is in the field rotating the sheep on the rented acreage down the road. Could be that you can hear birdsong instead of traffic there...and the contented munching of happy sheep...could be that the place just looks like Ireland! Or at least...what we imagine Ireland looks like!

The new electric fencing makes rotating the sheep like playing a round of golf. A nice relaxing walk about the green! Bothilde helps Shane with it from time to time...
